Hey everyone! It’s been a minute since I’ve blogged, and even when I was, I never really talked about the session. That’s one thing I want to change going forth in my business, and I thought Nicole & Alex’s wedding at Linden Hall in Dawson was the perfect place to start! I had been anticipating this wedding for a while because prior to May 11th, I hadn’t shot a wedding since January! I mean, I second shot a few weddings, traveled a bit, but planning, styling and shooting was something I really missed.
The day started out beautifully, as I made my way to Nicole’s quaint family farm, where she and her bridesmaids were getting ready for the biggest party of the year! After getting hair & makeup done, the girls headed to the Hall where they finished their prep with lipstick touch-ups and getting dressed. The bridal suite or rather, suites (there was like 3 rooms attached) was gorgeous! It was filled with natural light from the sunshine outside, and made Nicole’s getting ready photos incredible.
After the girls popped the bubbly, the bride did a reveal in her dress and the nerves were starting to show, I went to find Alex, who spent the morning playing golf with his closest buds. We did a few photos of him getting ready before it was time to set him up for the first look with his soon-to-be-bride. Alex was calm as ever, and just ready to see how beautiful Nicole looked, who was patiently waiting up the spiral staircase.
Once Alex was all setup, we gave Nicole the thumb’s up to start heading down, and I just LOVE these shots of her coming down the staircase. I can only imagine the excitement and anticipation both her and Alex were feeling during these moments before they got to see each other. Nicole’s gown was from Bridal Beginning’s and I swear it was made for her. With her moody lip, and long train, Nicole looked like an absolute queen.
I mean, how cute is this first look?! Amirite??
During a brief period where we had some downtime, we ventured into the reception tent for some detail shots! I absolutely loooove the greenery center pieces, and the garland along her head table. The wine cork detail was a super fun way in in-cork-orate the groom’s last name. ;)
You guys, we had suchhhh good weather for the first look, but as soon as the ceremony started, so did the rain. But honestly, that’s okay! Because Nicole and Alex didn’t let it ruin their day, they rockkkked it the whole way through the vows and into the bridal partyyyy shots!
This venue seriously blew my freakinnn’ mind. How beautiful is this place?! Seriously, if any of you brides decide to get married here, bring me alongggg, please. There are so many beautiful rooms for photos, the coordinators were incredibly kind and the outside ceremony space was stunning.
The bridal party was a blast to work with!
The groomsmen were loooovin’ my GQ & Vogue poses ;)
My favorite part of EVERY wedding is honestly the bridal portraits. Spending time with the new Mr. & Mrs. and capturing them in their first hour of love is so incredible to witness. I’ve photographed these two twice prior to their wedding and it was such a blast revisiting moments from their engagement session and incorporating some prompts into their bridal portraits.
Seriously guys.. these two are perfection.
It started to rain again, and Alex got a phone call asking where we were sooo after a few shots with Mariah tossing the veil, we headed down for the paaaaaarty! Everything was perfect. Alex shoved cake in his bride’s faced and she took it like a champ.
Nicole danced her butttt off all night long and her grandmother even started dancing with Mariah & I. It was adorable.
And thisssss firework finaleee!
Such a beautiful day with an even more gorgeous couple. Inside & out, these two are sooo nice, and sooo in love. I swear I spent most of my time just documenting their love for each other without truly having to adjust or prompt them to do much of anything.
I wish you both complete joy and happiness and a beautiful & long marriage together. I’ll be waiting for the call when it’s time for the babies to come alongggg ;)
