I finally had the opportunity to photograph my first Mansions on Fifth wedding, and it truly did not disappoint. As one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic wedding venues, Mansions on Fifth offers a timeless blend of historic charm and refined elegance—perfect for couples planning a classic, editorial-style wedding.
Located in the heart of Shadyside, this beautifully restored mansion provides an elevated backdrop for a wedding day that feels both intimate and luxurious. With grand architecture, light-filled interiors, and thoughtfully designed event spaces, it’s easy to see why Mansions on Fifth is such a standout among Pittsburgh wedding venues.
After their first look, the couple exchanged vows during an off-site ceremony at a church in Mt. Lebanon, which allowed us the flexibility to explore additional portrait locations afterward. One of the biggest perks of this timeline was the opportunity to stop at the Carnegie columns for portraits.
These portraits are some of my absolute favorites I’ve ever taken there. The grand scale, clean lines, and classic architecture of the Carnegie columns pair beautifully with a formal wedding aesthetic and add so much visual variety to the gallery. It’s an ideal stop for couples who want portraits that feel editorial, timeless, and uniquely Pittsburgh.

Returning to Mansions on Fifth, the focus shifted to the beautifully curated details. From the refined interior spaces to the carefully chosen design elements, every detail felt intentional and elevated. This venue truly shines when it comes to showcasing wedding details—its neutral palette, historic textures, and natural light allow each element to stand out without feeling overwhelming.
For couples who value design-forward styling and meaningful details, a Mansions on Fifth wedding offers the perfect canvas.
One of the most iconic features of Mansions on Fifth is its grand staircase, which creates an unforgettable entrance into the reception. Being announced from the staircase instantly elevates the moment and feels incredibly cinematic for both guests and photographs.
The staircase also offered a unique vantage point for capturing the first dance. The guests formed a half circle around the couple, allowing for an incredible perspective that showcased not only the couple’s connection, but the emotion and energy of everyone celebrating with them. It’s one of my favorite ways to document a first dance—immersive, intimate, and full of feeling.

From its historic architecture to its seamless flow and prime Shadyside location, Mansions on Fifth is an exceptional choice for couples planning a wedding that feels refined, romantic, and thoughtfully designed. It’s ideal for those who value experience, aesthetics, and timeless imagery—all while offering an intimate setting for guests.
Photographing a wedding here was an absolute honor, and I can’t wait to return to this iconic venue again. If you are getting married here, send me an inquiry! I’m still actively booking for summer and fall 2026 and all of 2027! I can provide you my list of preferred vendors and help you create the perfect timeline for a seamless, easy day!
