Bridal Boudoir — Welcome Guide

First let me start with how much I love photographing boudoir sessions and I am SO happy you have decided to take part in this experience!  As a photographer it is so incredibly fulfilling to see the process a woman undertakes with a boudoir session; finding beauty and comfort in your own beautiful skin.   Nothing is better than seeing a client (& hearing afterword) how the process made them feel so empowered and free.

I get it, being intimate and opening yourself up in front of a camera can give you butterflies!  BUT I promise you, we will work together to make you feel comfortable, beautiful and most importantly have FUN!  In our time together I will work with you through a series of guided poses to make you not only look great, but also feel great.  Think lots of “smizing” and channeling your inner Kim K [and if you don’t know what either this is, don’t worry you will be a master after your session]!  I work with each clients’ comfort level, beauty is not defined by the amount of skin that is shown.  So whether you are doing this as a gift for a lover, a celebration of your awesome self, or as a just because…. let’s do this together.

If you wax, do so now to avoid any bumps or redness

Make sure your eyebrows are nicely shaped and groomed

Splurge on a mani - pedi for a flawless finish.

Stay out of the sun - yes a base tan is nice in photos, but red blotchy skin is not

Moisturize! Inside & Out. Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated for luminous skin

Lower your salt intake and avoid alcoholic if your worried about retaining water

Try on all outfits, remove tags, steam & iron if necessary

Bathe, Shave & Moisturize

Double check everything is properly packed and ready for the shoot (see checklist)

Enjoy a relaxed, quiet evening

Plan for a good nights sleep

Skip socks, tight underwear or bra prior to your session to prevent lines and marks that can sometimes take hours to disappear.

Skip white deodorant as well and opt for clear instead.

Unless your an awesome DIY-er, I highly recommend getting professional makeup done. (IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN THE PHOTOS)

I also recommend hair being down in big loose waves, as the more volume, the better.

Tip - If possible, schedule your hair and makeup consultation the morning prior to your shoot. Your images will have the same look as you will have on your wedding day!!

Whether you want to go light & airy (bridal), dark & sexy or fun & wild, bring 3+ outfits to your session so we have options!

Think : lace or sheer bodysuits, matching bra & panties, fun panties with bows, sexy nighties, corsets, bralettes & lace anything!

Bring a pair of nude underwear (if desired) under bodysuits or sheer underwear

Bring your wedding heels, or a classy pair of neutral heels.

Accessorize with your wedding earrings, bracelets, bridal hair pieces, and garter

Bring your wedding veil AND a lace or white robe.

Keep a neutral lipstick on hand for touch ups in between changes

Thigh high tights w/ straps are incredibly sexy

Make sure you are wearing your engagement ring (AND GET THAT PUPPY CLEANED)

If you’re reallllly wanting beautiful photos, bring a bouquet of flowers with your wedding colors. Flowers ALWAYS add a beautiful element to the photographs.
